Composer and pianist Marco Rollo, with a musical career
studded with multifaceted experiences, constantly looking for new sounds and experiments.
Among his important collaborations, those with saxophonist Raffaele Casarano and Paolo Fresu in the Silver disc, and with Roy Paci for Emergency and Amnesty International.
After multiple experiences between balkan and funk, Marco Rollo approaches the world of electronic music with
a neo-classical sound between jazz and modernity where the strong point is the sounds of the acoustic piano with electronics, analog synths and pedals. It is here that he finds his connotation, his comfort zone.
The search for him has traced paths in jazz with forays into dub step, to then move on to progressive sounds, up to the electronic sounds of northern Europe combined with the soft melodies of pianists such as Esbjorn Svensson and Tord Gustavsen. Morcuf, Erik Truffaz, Cinematic Orchestra and Zero 7 are some of the artists who inspired his way of composing, proposing a new style whose absolute pivot is the piano.
