Awarded with two Latin Grammys for Best Samba Album for her recent albums Mart’nália Canta Vinicius de Moraes [2019] and +Misturado [2017], Mart’nália has recorded 13 studio albums and sang in his concerts - registered in 4 Live DVDs, many beautiful things.
Mart’nália has been playing samba since she was born. Accompanying his father, Martinho
da Vila, in the samba circles of Vila Isabel. Still very young, she fell in love with the rhythm. It was there that she learned to dance samba, sing, play the guitar and the tambourine. She began her professional career at the age of 16, as her father’s vocalist alongside her sister Analimar.
In the mid-90s, she started performing on the circuit of bars, clubs and theaters in Rio de Janeiro, which led her to release her first samba album, entitled Minha Cara.
Mart’nália had the privilege of being recognized by great names in Brazilian Popular Music. Caetano Veloso was the artistic director of his album Pé de meu Samba, having composed the title track and Maria Bethânia directed the album Menino do Rio. From these two albums, Mart’nália started to attract a lot of media attention, presenting himself live all over Brazil and then internationally with tours in Europe and Africa.
