Rossana, Inês Barroso's on-stage persona, has become a synonym of innovative approaches to music since the project’s inception 5 years ago.
Never shying away of the unconventional, the London based Portuguese composer has long departed from her background in classical piano, exploring genres ranging from jazz to psy-rock, Latin, Portuguese folk or even electronic music along the way. However, no matter how far she goes in her sonic incursions, she always manages to bring all these influences together in a sound that can only be described as her own.
After releasing and performing in Portugal, England and France her first LP last year, “The Entertainer”, a collection of thought-provoking tracks that perfectly illustrate that eclectic nature, Rossana is now about to release the first single and title-track of her sophomore album. “À La Portugaise", marking the beginning of a new chapter.
With a sound that reaffirms her heritage but never gives in to it, the artist aims to speak a universal language that will resonate with listeners across the globe.
To bring her music closer to new and international audiences, that is a promise for the near future.
