Tine is quickly gaining a reputation as a first-class performer of both core and new trumpet repertoire. Performing highlights of last season included orchestral debuts with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, NDR Hamburg, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen Orchestra and Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Solo recital debuts included Vancouver, Minneapolis and Tokyo.
This season, Tine has performed again with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Ulster orchestras as well as enjoying further re-invitations from the BBC Scottish Symphony, Stavanger Symphony and Kristians and Symphony orchestras. She has made her orchestral debuts with the Zurich Chamber, Dresden Philharmonic, Prague Radio and Sioux City Symphony orchestras, and Sinfonia Viva. Future debut dates this season include performances with the Orchestre de Lyon, as well as the Munich Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Tine will also be premiering new concerti by Britta Byström with the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, and by Alfred Janson with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. Additionally, Tine toured Europe with the renowned British pianist Kathryn Stott, culminating in her debut at London’s Wigmore Hall.
Tine Thing Helseth is also making her mark as a critically-acclaimed recording artist. In early 2012, Tine released her debut discs on EMI Classics: a solo disc with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Storyteller and the debut album of her all-female brass ensemble tenThing, 10. Tine’s latest album (released March 2013), Tine, presents a personal selection of original and transcribed works for trumpet, accompanied by Kathryn Stott.
