Hans Nieswandt is back with an album presenting his precious treasures of the hippie era in a disco/house format.
For a long time, Hans Nieswandt nourishes a special preference for what he calls „the secret hits of the hippie era“. For his legendary DJ sets, the co-founder of Whirlpool Productions ("From Disco To Disco") and winner of the Holger-Czukay-Award, made a lot of disco edits of his favourite hippie tracks. But because it was impossible to release them officially, he opted for doing proper cover versions.
The first single will be the tune „Sweet Algorithm“, written by Hans himself and also sung by him. It was the last track to be created, resuming the whole concept of the album: because especially in the early stages of production, it were these sweet algorithms he used to gently adjust the shifting grooves of the original versions to his tight disco beat grid.
But the idea of friendly algorithms, which can not only connect musical genres, but maybe even help healing cultural and social schisms, also became something of a leitmotif for „Flower Hans“. A hit with a message that could not be more on time.
The other leitmotif, or let’s say core fantasy for this album was: how would it have sounded, if the hippies had made disco already back then? The answer: super good of course! With his hippie disco versions, Hans not only shows his love for the originals, but elegantly leads them to the present, making them compatible for the modern dancefloors of today's clubs.
