Belonging, being part of a community, is a basic human need and gives us support. But what if the once so comfortable nest warmth begins to crush you? It is exactly this dichotomy that Wahnschaffe illuminates in her new song "Vermisse", her very personal snapshot on the way to a new life.
Being alone, responsibility, rethinking: the price of breaking free from old constraints and sheltered structures is a new Struggle. The feeling of "jumping into free fall and not knowing where you'll hit the ground," as the Cologne musician sums it up. In the video clip for the single, Wahnschaffe leaves the cozy table at home and gets behind the wheel for a literal ride into the unknown - only to crash first. But who gives up halfway through the journey? Not Wahnschaffe, at any rate.
Logically, with such a dilemma, the heart also has to endure a lot: "Boom Boom Boom" beats it in the chorus, four times to the point - and incidentally gives the mini-album, on which the song will appear together with four other new tracks, its title.
Just how much musical range the record has to offer is shown by "Vermisse" alone, which breaks out from soulful, dreamy verses into a funky, crunchy chorus that grabs you on first listen and triggers immediate dance reflexes. If you want to know how the journey continues, groove along and stay tuned: "Bumm Bumm Bumm" will be released on January 28, 2022.
"Boom Boom Boom" is the follow-up to the EP "Courage" released in 2020 and will be released via [Record Jet] on March 4, 2022. The mini-album was written and recorded by Sophia Wahnschaffe and Hanna Von Tottleben in the band's rehearsal room and finished together with Hamburg-based producer Monti.
