Brooklyn-based duo Francis Harris and Anthony Collins released several records of dreamy deep house under the name Frank & Tony.
The duo co-founded the Scissor & Thread label in 2011 and they began releasing a series of Frank & Tony EPs in 2012. Several of the duo's early songs were collaborations with indie dance duo Bob Moses, who would eventually sign to Domino after releasing two EPs on Scissor & Thread.
Frank & Tony's EPs gained praise from influential electronic music publications, building up anticipation for their debut full-length. This came in the form of 2014's You Go Girl, which was praised as one of the best underground house albums of the year, with the sweet, calmly blissful "Bring the Sun" receiving the most attention. DJ Koze included an edit of the track on his 2015 DJ-Kicks mix CD, and the duo continued releasing 12"s. Arriving in 2015, The Gales was released by Japan's Mule Musiq, but otherwise the duo issued their music through their own Scissor & Thread: Apprentice (2015), Waiting Ground (2016), Under The Jaguar Sun (2016) and Harmonium (2016).
They concluded the Frank & Tony project with their 2017 release, Odes. Both artists kept releasing albums: Francis Harris followed up on his debut Leland from 2012: Minutes Of Sleep (2018), Trivial Occupations (2018) and Thresholds (2022) as well as the Swann and Odette album with the project Aris Kindt (2017).
Anthony Collins released three albums under his moniker Grant: Cranks (2016), Fantasy Blues (2019) and Perception (2020).
In 2022 the duo reunited with the EP Dream Vibration marking the 50th release on Scissor & Thread.
