Tell Me Lies actor Jackson White says musician father Jack White has died: 'I love you dad forever'

Actor Jackson White announced the passing of his father Jack White in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old actor posted a collection of images of his late father, who was a drummer, while paying memorial in an emotional caption.
'This guy taught me everything,' said White, who plays Stephen DeMarco on the Hulu drama opposite girlfriend Grace Van Patten, 27. 'We had ups and downs, as a man has with their father. But in the end it was just love ... he’s not in pain anymore.'
White, whose mother is actress Katey Sagal, 70, went on to list a number of memories he shared with his late father, praising his abilities as a drummer.
'He was an open book, a fighter, genuinely the funniest person my sister and I knew, and single handedly invented the loudest most powerful back beat of any drummer I’ve ever seen,' White said.

He continued: 'And we get to remember him, 6 foot 4 with a denim shirt and a Starbucks muffin, driving us around, teaching us every important song ever written.'
White said he was 'wearing his [late father's] shoes every day,' adding, 'not a metaphor he had really cool shoes.'
White wrapped up the emotional post in saying, 'Big Jack White. 1954-2024. I love you dad forever.'
White's mother Sagal had been married to the musician from 1993 to 2000, coinciding with part of her run on the comedy Married... with Children, which ran from 1987-1997.
She added in the comment thread, 'Beautiful Jackson and Beautiful Sarah I will always be grateful to your dad for you! Thank you Jack. Finally free.'
Jessie's Girl artist Rick Springfield took to the site July 7 paying memorial to White, who he described as his 'long time friend, cohort, passionate musician, loving crazy boy, fiery drummer, and deep soul.'
Springfield, 74, said that White died 'surrounded by his beautiful family' and that he and his spouse Barbara Porter had visited White, who was in hospice treatment, earlier this month.
'He was on all the drugs you are allowed to take on your way out and was thankfully feeling no pain,' White said. 'He was funny and loving and we talked for over two hours. It was such a great conversation and Jack was the driving force, still.'

Springfield added that White had been his drummer 'for different stretches between 1976 and 2002,' and had encouraged him to tour on three occasions.
'He’d say "Come on man! Let’s put a band together!"' Springfield said. 'Among his many famous lines was "I hit things for a living."'
Springfield described his late friend and bandmate as 'a complex man, damaged, ferocious, cantankerous, loving, and above all, a good good soul.'
Springfield wrapped up his memorial in saying, 'God speed sweet JDub. I will miss you and know that your life left its mark on me, in a good way. You are the man.'
In addition to his work on Tell Me Lies, Jack has been seen on shows such as SEAL Team, The Middle and Mrs. Fletcher; and in films such as Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, Ambulance and The Space Between.
