Queen Letizia and King Felipe of Spain dazzled in black tie as they attended an awards ceremony in Madrid this evening.

The royal couple, who are both known for their sharp and glamorous dressing, looked more stylish than ever at The Mariano Awards in the Spanish capital.

The Mariano Awards recognise scientific and innovation initiatives in the nation.

The Queen, 52, opted for a white dress with a structured waistcoat-effect detail and a flared skirt in the style of a brand beloved by many UK royals, Self Portrait.

She opted for a sleek metallic look and accessorised with a metallic bag, pairing the whole outfit with glistening heeled sandals.

Meanwhile King Felipe, 56, who has made waves around the world for the second year running over his exquisitely-tailored suits, looked dapper in a black tuxedo, complete with a bow tie.

The King set tongues wagging as he appeared in Berlin, Germany, last weekend with his youngest daughter, 17-year-old Infanta Sofia, and met with Princes William and George at the Euro 2024 final when England was beaten by Spain.

The pair could not hide their excitement as they cheered from the stands and later celebrated with the team.

A cheerful Felipe happily shook the hands of every athlete as they received their medals.

The official Spanish Royal Family's X account tweeted: 'EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!!! You have been the best team, you have made us enjoy every game and all of Spain is proud of you. Congratulations @SEFutbol.

'This result does justice to what we have seen on the field throughout #EURO2024'

The Felipe and Sofia beamed as they linked up with Prince William and his son, Prince George, at the start of the match.

Thee group shook hands as met with each each other in the same viewing area, with Felipe and William chatting about the match.

William and George - who is second in line to the throne - were also putting on a sartorial display as they wore matching striped ties that were the colours of the England national football kit, white and red.

While many England fans were devastated by the loss, social media exploded with praise for the Spanish monarch's sharp dress sense - for which he had previously received plenty of attention the previous year at the final of the Wimbledon Championships.

Queen Letizia and King Felipe received the Spanish football team earlier this week at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid where they received a heroes' welcome as they brought back the Euro trophy.

The queen and her daughters, Leonor, 18, and Sofia, all showed support for La Roja by donning red outfits - with the princesses in Spain jerseys.
