About Us

The Crescent-News is the largest daily newspaper in the four county area comprising Northwest Ohio and is owned by the Adams Publishing Group.

The company’s main product is The Crescent-News, a daily newspaper published three days per week on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule. It offers home delivery within in a 25-mile radius of Defiance and has a daily circulation of 13,905 and a Sunday circulation of 14,856.  The larger communities served include Napoleon, Bryan, Archbold, Paulding and Hicksville.

Other products include a monthly coupon book called Clip2Save.

The reporting focus of the daily newspaper is on local news with a heavy emphasis on Northwest Ohio area government reporting and high school sports coverage.

The staff covers news and meetings of area city councils, and area school boards plus Defiance County and surrounding County Commissioner meetings.

We report area accident, fire and arrests on a daily basis and publish courthouse reports for Defiance and area Common Pleas Courts on a weekly basis.

The daily newspaper includes locally produced business, religion, health, agricultural and outdoor pages on a weekly basis and locally produced society pages several times per week.

The sports staff covers 18 area high schools plus, Defiance College, summer youth sports, local golf and local bowling.

Each edition includes one page is dedicated to editorial (opinion) content and those pages include at least two locally written editorials per week. Letters to the Editor are published two days per week.
