I'm very enthusiastic about contributing to better global health evidence and Cochrane Engage has helped me do that! I suggest to anyone wondering how to start or improve their evidence-based medicine skills: Get involved! Collect experience, network, and Cochrane membership points, and feel proud that you are contributing to a world of better health for all people. |
I first used Engage to volunteer with Cochrane on a Plain Language Summary evaluation project, and have since used it with great success to find participants for one my PhD studies. Engage helped me to reach lots of volunteers from diverse backgrounds. This contributes to making health research more accessible, which can help improve health literacy. I used people’s profiles to decide whether to recruit them as volunteers. My top tips for new Engage volunteers are to keep your profile updated, explain your suitability for each task when you apply, and don’t be afraid to ask questions! |
