At its tenth meeting in Nagoya, Japan, in October 2010, the CBD Conference of the Parties adopted a revised and updated Strategic Plan for Biodiversity, for the 2011-2020 period, including the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.

Prior to the tenth meeting, a series of events was held to gather input to the formulation of the new plan. In line with decision IX/9 of the Conference of the Parties, Parties and stakeholders were also encouraged to submit their views. Feedback and information gathered through various activities are consolidated below.
