Landmarks light up for air ambulance charity

Three landmarks are being illuminated to mark air ambulance week.

Corfe Castle in Dorset, and Glastonbury Tor and Wellington Monument in Somerset, will be lit up every night until Sunday.

The stunt aims to highlight the life-saving work of air ambulance charities across the UK.

Fundraising manager Emma Jones said the lights were a "a truly wonderful gesture" by the National Trust.

Last year, two of the National Trust buildings, Corfe Castle and Wellington Monument, were lit up for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Now, Glastonbury Tor has also joined the campaign.

Ms Jones said: "With every mission costing approximately £3,500, this brilliant awareness generating activity by Glastonbury Tor, Corfe Castle and Wellington Monument, supported by the National Trust, is a truly wonderful gesture and will certainly increase awareness of our work during Air Ambulance Week.

"We can’t thank them enough."
