Update July 16, 2024 . The mattress is still positive sleep producing for both of us. I rotate the mattress each month to keep comfort level & shape.
Original :The only thing I notice as a cut back cost quality is that the actual sides around the mattress are not padded inside between the springs & outer covering. I can feel them during set up. It is only noticeable if you roll your hand along the actual side. The corners are padded. This is a more firm mattress with the hybrid plush top. One sided. It is a great value for quality, price & sleep. Need a new mattress with semi firm support? This is fantastic. I have multiple degenerative & immune disease spinal issues. Amazed that queen size mattress with my husband sleeping by my side there is not a disruptive noticeable amount of 2nd person movement throughout the mattress. It is pretty heavy box when it arrives. You might need additional help maneuvering the box. Sturdy heavy box. Not a dent or tear on outer box. Un box. Set on foundation /frame. Unroll SLOWLY the cling wrap 1st layer. If you pull it slowly as it comes off it's very simple. The heavy gauge vacuum plastic may begin to expand before you cut bag. I made sure the roll of mattress was on middle of box spring so it unfolded without issue, cut small line opening on bottom end of mattress bag. It begins to expand. Then just get craft scissors and cut AWAY heavy plastic from mattress down plastic bag around 3 sides. I was able to pull the plastic off the mattress in about 3 easy pulls. Let it sit at least 24 hrs because it will become 12" and fully fill out nicely. Sleeping on slightly higher mattress, make sure you check your corner fitted sheet . At 12" you want a good amount of coverage around & under mattress. I recommend 16-17" fitted corner max so it doesn't slip off. We also put a mattress pad on our mattress then the fitted sheet. I can say I was pleased to sleep well all night. Back & side. And I have severe level spine issues. My husband has hip arthritis as we are getting older and he also sleeps well. 4 nights and neither of us has woke the other haven't woke in discomfort or hot. Remember this is more firm-ish than medium. I am extremely satisfied with this Ashley product. There is NO fireproof chemical treatment on this mattress. That is a plus for allergy sufferers & skin sensitivities. Great mattress. I finally look forward to "going to bed" again.
