WHAT WE’RE TRACKING:

The combination of dry fuels, strong winds and low moisture levels (from storms in the Great Basin and high pressure to the west) are keeping the Red Flag Warnings prominent through Saturday evening (5 pm).  These conditions continue on Saturday but the winds will diminish as high pressure moves closer and the atmospheric pressure balances and relaxes.

Warm and sunny with lighter winds (NW 5-10 mph)

EXTENDED FORECAST:

High pressure will continue to build into the area early in the next work week which will keep temperatures around average (with lots of sunshine) and winds on the light side.  These conditions continue to prevail with another scenario that storms move into Northern California by the middle of next week.  If that scenario rings true then temperatures will cool with a high chance of rain.  Details will be understood with more clarity a few days from now.
