GLAM and Cultural Heritage in Italy is a conference about the free use of images of the Italian cultural heritage and the limits of the current regulations.

The conference will be conducted in Italian only.

Introduction

GLAM and Cultural Heritage in Italy is a conference about the free use of images of the Italian cultural heritage and the limits of the current regulations. Among the speakers there are directors of major Italian museums and archives that have promoted the idea of "digital commons" by giving free access to their collections. These institutions took up the challenge of Wikimedia Italy that has been working for 10 years with cultural professionals and institutions to freely share knowledge in order to enhance Italian cultural heritage.

Also, thanks to Wiki Loves Monuments Italia photo contest, Wikimedia Italia has recently started a constructive dialogue with the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism and with the Parliament aimed to revising the laws governing the reproduction of cultural heritage. The common mission is to allow the Italian heritage to freely express all its potential on a cultural, artistic ad economic level. The results of this meeting will be presented by Francesco Giovanni Albisinni (Deputy Chief of the Legislative Office of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism) and by two members of the parliament, Veronica Tentori and Giuditta Pini.
