COCOA and SoTA invite you
A hackathon-meets-rave where engineers, founders, and artists will make robots dance.
At Cocoa and SoTA we believe in the importance of culture for technoscientific progress. We want to celebrate the 2nd birthday since SoTA’s inception and the launch of Cocoa II. And what more human way to celebrate the culture of technological progress, optimism, and ambition than a dancing robot – the ultimate expression of the joy and hope we want to cultivate for the future.
Teams (up to 5 people) will have 24 hours to bring a robot’s dance moves to life. They can use physical robots (some provided), teleoperation, AI motion models, or creative simulations — whatever brings the most joy to the floor.
The only rule: it must move to music.
Cocoa Ventures is an angel fund investing $500K checks in Killers with a Heart at pre-seed, supporting them as their in-house VC and helping them hack the system from the inside. More on Cocoa here.
SOTA (Society for Technological Advancement) is cultivating a permanent, cross-disciplinary community of promising scientists, researchers, engineers, and technologists who believe that the best way to predict is to create. We run hackathons, panels, and an open journal.
