Wheeljack's workshop, located on Cybertron, is where Wheeljack makes a lot of things that explode, sometimes even intentionally. As you might expect from the workplace of a mad genius, it's cluttered with failed experiments and devices which might or might not do what he originally designed them for. It's apparently within human walking distance from Decepticon Headquarters.

At some point, possibly before the Autobots left Cybertron as Wheeljack knew about it, the Decepticons sealed off the workshop using a computerized lock. When Optimus Prime was critically injured and required a new cosmitron, Wheeljack recalled that he had one in his workshop. Chip Chase, Bumblebee, Bluestreak, Trailbreaker and Ironhide traveled to Cybertron over the space bridge, where Chip was able to bypass the lock. Ironhide swiftly located the cosmitron, and they got it safely back to Earth. Divide and Conquer

After Cybertron was pulled into Earth's orbit as one of Megatron's plans, a group of Autobots flew to their home planet to rescue Sparkplug Witwicky. They obtained information on the hypno-chips the Decepticons were using, and took refuge in Wheeljack's lab to avoid the searching Watchdogs. While there, Wheeljack used the machinery in his lab to put together a device to counteract the effect of the hypno-chips. The Ultimate Doom, Part 3

When the Transformers suffered from Cybertonium depletion, Spike and Carly ended up on Cybertron searching for more of the substance. Sparkplug directed them to Wheeljack's workshop. Though they didn't locate any Cybertonium there, they did run into Swoop, who explained how the other Dinobots had been captured by Shockwave. Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 2

At some point, Megatron sent Dirge to retrieve a device from Wheeljack's workshop. It didn't do the Decepticons much good, as Dirge crashed into a swamp on the way back, waterlogging the device. Wheeljack later admitted that he'd never gotten the thing to work anyway. Hoist Goes Hollywood
