"What's a diorama?"

Transformers: Beast Wars Diorama Story (トランスフォーマー ビーストウォーズ ジオラマストーリー) is a series of video shorts found on the DVDs packed with the Beast Wars Telemocha Series figures. They depict those same figures in pre-posed positions, playing out a battle (honestly, calling it a "story" is a bit generous) on a diorama landscape through a series of still scenes, with the occasional "laser blast" or "explosion" special effect added in post-production.

Each chapter begins with a recap of the storyline behind the Beast Wars and a description of the Telemocha Series character line-up. This takes up the bulk of the chapter content, with the individual "battles" being simply displays of each character's unique attacks and weaponry.

Later installments in the Diorama Story series introduced a cross-promotion with the Japanese release of the live-action movie Fast Action Battlers toyline, adding those toys into the dioramas and presenting a scenario that saw the Autobots and Decepticons of the movie universe somehow being transported into the midst of the Beast Wars. Head-scratchingly, the events of this cross-promotion were deemed to be officially part of Japanese cartoon continuity by Takara's 2007 timeline.

All Diorama Story episodes are accompanied by a Character Data File detailing the character's abilities and weapons. DX Convoy and DX Megatron did not come with Diorama Story segments, instead having expanded Data Files with a story of their own.

Energon Power Mode OP Megs.jpg

Through the power of energon, both Optimus Primal and Megatron have attained the giant "Energon Power Mode"! The energies coursing in their bodies grant both improved abilities, with Optimus Primal now being able to run 120 kilometers per hour, jump 14 meters, and have an output of 3,000,000 horsepower. In this mode, he has multiple weapons in robot mode, including the arm-mounted Plasma Cannon, the Cyber Blades, and the Destroy Hammer. Megatron, on the other hand, can run 140 kilometers per hour, jump 12 meters, and has a 3,000,000 horsepower output. His weapons are the Death Claw, Tyrano Fangs, Plasma Busters, and the Laser Buster.

Predictably, the two battle, with the victor yet to be determined.
