Transformers: Age of Extinction (abbreviated on this Wiki as "AOE") is the fourth franchise built around the live-action film series. It was released in 2014, and was accompanied by a marketing and merchandise blitz. The Age of Extinction franchise covers the fourth film and all related media including:
- Toyline
- Film
- Score
- Pre-score score
- Half a console video game
- Half a 3DS video game
- Another money stealing mobile game
- A mobile app
- A Chinese reality show
- The rebranded UK magazine
- A toy museum event
- Funko merchandise
As well as an expectedly enormous swath of additional licensed material.
This franchise is followed by the The Last Knight franchise.
Unlike previous films, there were no book tie-ins: Hasbro informed IDW Publishing that "We would love to work with you, but the director doesn’t like publishing and won’t go for it."[1]
