The final throwdown between Optimus and Megatron.

Synopsis
Up in the sky, Optimus Prime and Megatron continue their duel, though Prime's Wingblade armor and Magnus Hammer seem to be giving him the edge. Annoyed, Megatron decides to even the odds by finding his arm cannon, which he lost during his captivity by Starscream.
Down on the ground, Starscream's disembodied noggin struggles to wriggle away, as Starscream laments the loss of his brand new body. Starscream, unfortunately, wriggles right up next to Megatron's arm cannon. Megatron plucks up both his weapon and Starscream's head. As Optimus swoops down to attack, Megatron powers up his cannon with Starscream and his AllSpark fragment. The resulting blast blows Optimus apart. Taking no chances, Megatron flies up and impales Optimus through the chest with his sword.
Having driven his sword directly through Optimus's spark, Megatron whispers to him that this time around there will be no mysterious "power" to save him from certain death. Optimus, dying, summons up the strength to scream back at Megatron that his spark will continue to shine so long as he draws breath.
Suddenly, Prime's body erupts in a fantastic glow. Megatron notices Starscream's AllSpark fragment reacting to it. The fragment pulls free from Starscream's head (killing Starscream) and hovers over to Optimus's hand. Optimus is now fully repaired and glowing with a Heavenly aura. Surprised, Optimus remarks that the AllSpark has given him the power. Megatron disagrees, claiming that the AllSpark is merely "lending" him the power and that Prime must relinquish it to its rightful owner: him.
Prime replies by punching Megatron in the face and sending him crashing into a crater in the street below. Struggling to get up, Megatron babbles to himself that an Emperor of Destruction cannot be defeated. Prime proves him wrong by zipping down from the sky and choke-slamming the Decepticon into unconsciousness.
On planet Cybertron, Sentinel and a throng of Autobots greet Optimus and his crew as they return aboard an Autobot shuttle with the shackled Megatron in tow. Sentinel remarks to himself that Optimus has finally returned... as a hero.

Notes
- This issue could be considered a loose adaptation of "Endgame, Part II", given that it's the end of the Animated story that sees Prime beat Megatron in a one-on-one followed by a triumphant return to Cybertron, but beyond those similarities, the actual content of the story is pretty much wholly original.
- Optimus previously escaped death through the power of the AllSpark in The Cool Episode 2.
- Optimus Prime's glowing AllSpark-powered form seen at the end of the issue would appear to be both a promotion for the translucent Activators Optimus Prime toy and a reference to Prime's glowing, AllSpark-powered form seen in the Japanese Animated title sequence but not in the actual television series.
- In The Cool, as well as the Japanese dub of Transformers Animated, Megatron never has any trouble remembering Optimus Prime's name. Thus, Prime's declaration of his name while delivering the final blow to Megatron loses a lot of the impact it had in the English version of the cartoon.
- Prowl does not sacrifice himself here as he did in the television series. However, he is not shown disembarking the Autobot shuttle on Cybertron with the rest of the Autobots, but merely vanishes from the story.
