Venom Homage?
I find the idea that the fear parasite is a Venom homage to be pretty dubious. Opinions? JW 17:25, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not wholly sold on it myself, but I recall some discussion on it on the Allspark a while back. But, y'know... black ooze that uses other creatures as a host, feeds on rage and takes the form of a spider... - Chris McFeely 17:27, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Isn't this story almost entirely recycled from an earlier UK story? Distant Thunder!, #100, also featured slimy alien hosts that feed on rage, and that story predates Venom by about two years. --ItsWalky 19:17, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'd like to point out that the symbiote didn't feed on rage in the comics. The connection to aggression didn't appear until the cartoon, which started in Nov. 1994. I'd say it has more in common with the Beta XII-A entity. —Interrobang 19:38, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Now, see, I knew that... my head must've been somewhere else. It's that darn spider-form it takes... - Chris McFeely 19:56, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
