The Transformers cartoon
In 2006, when palm trees decorated the Dutch landscape and the country had given up on its restrictive firearms laws, French street gangs roamed the country shooting at houses and throwing explosives at windmills that were actually military bases. At the request of the country's police force, the Autobots went to put an end to the violence. Predictably, they bumped into the Decepticons and more violence ensued.
The Decepticons later stole Metroplex's transformation cog so that he would be an easy prey for Trypticon. However, Trypticon had way too much fun destroying ships of the Dutch Navy, flattening an orchard, and nearly killing a train full of people. On that last endeavor, the Autobots managed to land a few hits on the Titan, so Galvatron ordered him repaired before he could go on destroying a dam and maybe then finally Metroplex. During repairs though, the Autobots stole Trypticon's transformation cog and installed it in Metroplex. There were problems getting Metroplex's systems to accept the alien transformation cog, so First Aid had to be brought in, but after that Metroplex had the upper hand in his and Trypticon's fight and summarily beat his opponent. The Decepticons probably left the Netherlands not too long afterwards. Whether the inhabitants and street gangs kept fighting is unknown. The Ultimate Weapon
Notes
- Truthfully, where most of the action in "The Ultimate Weapon" takes place is not confirmed, but the windmills, flat land, water, and the lace cap worn by the woman tending her garden of what appear to be tulips doesn't leave much room for any country other than the Netherlands. As for the French-coded street gangs and what they are doing in the Netherlands and what happened to the in between country of Belgium, the season 2 episode "Trans-Europe Express" might shed some light on it as its map of Europe suggests that France has taken over most of Western Europe by 1985.
