"Where we're going, we won't need eyes to see."

Kaon is the communications officer of the Decepticon Justice Division and the one responsible for maintaining its hit list. A veritable dynamo, his frame crackles with electricity from the generator in his chest, arcing out from his hands and the twin Tesla coils mounted on his shoulders. In his alternate mode of an electric chair he pitilessly tortures any wretch who deviates from Decepticon orthodoxy. Thousands of watts of electricity are discharged directly into the cranial chambers of those who would defy Megatron. Unlike in humans, this procedure is not always fatal.

Despite his chilly demeanor and his cold, bottomless black eyes, he can become almost giddy in the execution of his duties, whether it's excitedly tracking down the D.J.D.'s next target or gleefully ripping an Autobot to shreds.

Kaon also owns a partially domesticated turbofox known only as "the Pet." He's surprisingly quite emotionally-attached to it.

In 2009, following the Surge, Kaon and the other members of the D.J.D. arrived over Garrus-9 to eliminate Shockwave. They discovered that Shockwave had planned for this contingency by making sure his crewmembers were also on the D.J.D's list of targets; Tarn opted to ignore Shockwave's barter and take out Shockwave, who was target number one on their list. The gambit failed and the D.J.D. were forced to retreat when backup arrived in the form of Bludgeon and the Monstructor Six. The Ties That Bind

When the Decepticon Black Shadow was caught for getting bribed to destroy a fleet of War Worlds after the war's end, Kaon electrocuted him and left him to get talked to death by Tarn. Kaon and the other members were then ordered by Tarn to move on to their next target, Fulcrum. Rules of Disengagement

On arrival at Clemency, they met with resistance from Fulcrum's new friends, the Scavengers, which automatically got them all put on The List. After pinning Krok down so that Vos could impale his face, Kaon went on to introduce Misfire to the Pet and use his electric powers to cripple Crankcase's Cybernought long enough for Tarn to destroy it. Following the apparent death of Fulcrum, Kaon detected the energy signature of Overlord and informed Tarn, who immediately ordered the D.J.D. to leave in search of this new target. Who's Afraid of the DJD? Aboard the Peaceful Tyranny, Tarn showed concern as Kaon spontaneously began writhing in agony right in front of him. ONE POINT TWENTY-ONE GIGAWATTS

Arriving at Overlord's location, the Lost Light (in reality, one of two created by a malfunction of the ship's quantum engines), near the planet Ofsted XVII, the D.J.D. set about murdering the ship's crew of Autobots. Kaon personally killed Dipstick by shocking him to death before reaching the still-restrained Overlord. Tarn chopped his head off with a chainsaw while Kaon smirked, and the D.J.D. left the wrecked ship. slaughterhouse The Road Not Taken

When the D.J.D. returned to the murder site 17 months later to steal the Lost Light's quantum engines, they found that the Galactic Council and the Black Block Consortia were fighting over the same prize over Ofsted. The two sides joined forces to attack the D.J.D. Kaon and Vos pursued a Council squad to the planet's surface when reinforcements arrived, forcing the Peaceful Tyranny to retreat with out them. As a result, Kaon and Vos were left near-dead in a wrecked campus. The kindness of Trailcutter saw Vos brought back from the brink... at which point he attacked the Autobot, forcing him to raise a forcefield. Kaon was inside the field in alt-mode: the forcefield charged him up and he gleefully tore Trailcutter to pieces. When the Autobots protested that Megatron had declared the war over, Kaon took Trailcutter's post-war copy of Towards Peace to check but smashed Trailcutter's brain first anyway. Vos and himself were then teleported back onto the Peaceful Tyranny by Helex. Births, Deaths, and Interventions

Kaon got a little ahead of himself.

In the D.J.D. headquarters on Clemency, Kaon explained the unique properties of Nuke to Nickel. He later accompanied Tarn to a rendezvous with Deathsaurus, tapping into and hijacking the inter-Decepticon radio of the renegade's stolen Warworld for Tarn's use. He became concerned when Tarn and Deathsaurus came to blows, but Vos convinced him not to intervene.

After the brawl, the Decepticons formed one big happy family out to get Megatron The Permanent Revolution and finally ambushed him and his closest allies at the Necrobot's planet. How Bright Their Frail Deeds A siege commenced. When Ten was caught outside of it, a gleeful Kaon and his chums ripped the mech to pieces before Ratchet and Drift showed up. The Sun in Flight This wouldn't have mattered a damn except that Drift noticed Kaon got upset when the Pet was hurt and duly took the critter hostage. Kaon freaked out and demanded everyone let the Autobots retreat, much to Helex's anger.

Kaon rushed to a strategy powwow, distressed by the loss of the Pet and begging Tarn that they had to get him back. Realizing just how much Kaon had truly cared for the turbofox, Tarn embraced his comrade...

...and, to Nickel's horror, ripped Kaon's head off because this sentiment was a weakness that he wouldn't allow his personnel to feel.

Unwittingly ironic, Tarn smashed Kaon's head and brain module flat against the nearest surface. Your Fierce Tears
