The I.R.O.N. Cybertronians are abominations of science from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The result of Garrison Kreiger's experiments into hybridizing the magic of the Talisman with the mechanical physiology of the Transformers, the two "I.R.O.N. Cybertronians" might be the most unusual interpretation of combiners in the multiverse: little more than programmable robots, each is controlled by a horde of interconnected IRON Troopers, animating their hollowed-out bodies like a suit of armor.

And I'll form the head, and he'll form the head, and he'll form the head, and...

The first "IRON Cybertronian" was formed by a swarm of IRON Troopers in the Brasnyan winter of 1944; seeking to defend the Axalon from intruders, they successfully interlocked their bodies to commandeer the corpse of the Maximal Domitius Major, who had died some years before. Though Centurion successfully defeated the creatures, the encounter inspired Kreiger. Strange Visitors

Over the next few decades, Kreiger successfully managed to retrieve the Talisman responsible for creating and controlling the IRON Troopers, and, combined with the salvaged bodies of Domitius and "Shockwave," was able to recreate the effect. Slaving them to his underground base, he harnessed the mangled remains of Mike "Atomic Man" Power to serve as the conduit between his base and the Talisman tech.

Kreiger would eventually deploy his two creations during a battle against the "Revolutionaries," but they were undone when Action Man flooded the tunnels and washed them away. Minutes later, Atomic Man committed suicide, and, deprived of their connection to the base, the two robots collapsed and fell to pieces. Power and Glory
