The Transformers cartoon
In his science class at Benjamin Franklin Pierce High School, Mr. Robbins was demonstrating a low-power laser. Little did he know Martin and Roland had increased the power, which caused the laser to burn through a stack of books and break a window. As punishment, he told them they had to get a blue ribbon at the science fair and assigned Elise to their team.
The three students broke into the school late one night to use the lab to build their robot, which they named B.O.T.. Elise installed a mysterious component which caused the robot to run amok and trash the laboratory. Martin grabbed the power-boosted laser and attacked B.O.T., which caused him to retreat by crashing through a wall. The trio ran to the school's computer lab to contact the Protectobots. Instead, the kids contacted Optimus Prime, who sent Ironhide, Gears, and Bumblebee to investigate. The Autobots met the kids at the school and entered, finding B.O.T. was destroying the cafeteria. While fighting the robot, Ironhide burned a hole through the floor through careless use of molten lead. B.O.T. escaped through a window, and the Autobots chased after him.
After Swindle retrieved Brawl's personality component, the kids brought B.O.T. back to the school lab, where they discovered they could use the component's brain response to track it. B.O.T. was eventually destroyed along with the orbit disruptor cannon. It is unknown how the three kids fared in the science fair or what happened when the school opened the next day and the laboratory and cafeteria were found wrecked. B.O.T.

Notes
- The name of the school is a reference to Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce from M*A*S*H (who was, coincidentally, also the inspiration for the Mini-Con Hawkeye's bio).
- Teletraan I reports that it is a one-level brick structure, but it sure looks like it has two stories from the outside.
