Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is an action video game. It was published by JVC Musical Industries and was developed by Sculptured Software and LucasArts.[1]

The game was released on November 12, 1993 in North America, December 17, 1993 in Japan, and February 18, 1994 in Europe. It was only released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.[2]

In the game, the player controls Luke Skywalker and they mainly play through the events of the 1980 movie Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

It is the sequel to the 1992 game Super Star Wars and also had a sequel titled Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in 1994.

Reception

The game recieved positive reviews by game critics. Critics said that they liked the graphics, sound, gameplay, and being true to the source material. However, critics also said that they didn't like the controls, how difficult the gameplay was.[3][4][5]
