Stephen Nathaniel Limbaugh Sr. (/ˈlɪmbɔː/ LIM-baw; born November 17, 1927) is an American former federal judge. He served as a judge to both the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the District Court for the Western District of Missouri from 1983 until his retirement in 2008. He was chosen by U.S. president Ronald Reagan in the early 1980s after a noted career as a trial lawyer in Missouri.
Limbaugh was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. His son and namesake, Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr., is currently a federal judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. He is also an uncle of radio host and conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh.[1]
