Scott Alan Stapp (born Anthony Scott Flippen, born August 8, 1973) is an American musician. He is the founder and lead singer of the rock band Creed.
He won a Grammy Award with Creed for their 2000 single, "With Arms Wide Open". Throughout his career, he has been involved in many legal troubles and also attempted suicide twice. He credits rapper T.I. for saving his life.[1]
He has since committed himself to sobriety and also shaved his head, which he used to demonstrate his "changed" personality.[2] He was ranked at #68 in the Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists by Hit Parader.[3]
