Oliver George Wallace (August 6, 1887 – September 15, 1963) was an English-born American composer and conductor.[1] He scored 139 animated short movies for Walt Disney Studios.[2] He also wrote scores for several Disney documentaries, and feature movies.[2] Wallace worked for Disney studios for 27 years.[3] He died in a Burbank, California hospital on September, 15, 1963.[3]

In 1941 Wallace won an Oscar for scoring the music for the animated movie Dumbo.[4] In 2008 he was honored with a Disney Legends award.[5]

Wallace stated composers like Claude Debussy, Richard Wagner, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Max Steiner, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Richard Strauss, Thomas Tallis, Hamilton Harty, Jan Kubelík and Carl Nielsen as influences.
