Lamar County, Alabama

Lamar County (formerly Jones County and Sanford County) is a county in the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 13,972.[1] The county seat is Vernon.[2] The name is in honor of Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar, member of the United States Senate from Mississippi.[3]
