Grandpa Jones

Louis Marshall Jones (October 20, 1913 – February 19, 1998), known professionally as Grandpa Jones, was an American banjo player and "old time" country and gospel music singer. He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Jones was born on October 20, 1913 in Niagara, Kentucky. He was raised in Akron, Ohio. He was married to Ramona Riggins from 1946 until his death in 1998. They had three children. Jones died on February 19, 1998 in Nashville, Tennessee from a stroke, aged 84.[1]
