Giuliano Montaldo

Giuliano Montaldo (22 February 1930 – 6 September 2023) was an Italian movie director, screenwriter and actor. He was born in Genoa, Italy. He starred in the movies Achtung! Banditi! (1951) and Gli Sbandati (1955). In 1960, he directed his first movie called Tiro al piccione.

His best known works as a director include: Una bella grinta, Grand Slam, Gott mit uns (1969), Sacco and Vanzetti (1971), Giordano Bruno (1973), Tempo di uccidere (1989–1991), and Marco Polo.

In 1971 he was a member of the jury at the 7th Moscow International Film Festival.[1]

Montaldo died on 6 September 2023, at the age of 93.[2][3]
