Essex Police

Essex Police is a territorial police force responsible for policing the county of Essex. It is responsible for more than1.8 million people and an area of 1,420 square miles (3,700 km2). It shares support services with Kent Police.

Essex Constabulary started in 1840. In 1965, it had 1,862 officers. Southend-on-Sea had its own police force until 1969. The force had more than 4000 police officers in 2020.[1]
