Christopher John Reuel Tolkien (21 November 1924 – 16 January 2020) was an English editor, essayist and educator. He was the third son of the author J. R. R. Tolkien (1892–1973). He was the editor of much of his father's posthumously published work. He drew the original maps for his father's The Lord of the Rings, which he signed C.J.R.T. He was born in Leeds, England.
He published The Saga of King Heidrek the Wise. Tolkien was a lecturer and tutor in English Language at New College, Oxford, from 1964 to 1975.[1]
Tolkien died on 15 January 2020 in Draguignan, Var, France, at the age of 95.[2][3][4]
