Baneins is a commune. It is found in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in the Ain department in the east of France. In 2009, 583 people lived in the commune. The inhabitants are the Baninois. The local economy is mostly based around agriculture. The most important monuments in the commune are the Saint-Martin church, originally from the 12th century, and a lavoir built in 1912. Famous people from Baneins include Donat Bollet, a doctor and politician in the 19th and 20th centuries.
