Autobiography

genre and publication type, biography written by the subject

An autobiography is a biography in which the author writes about his or her own life. It is a self-written account of one's own life. It is one of the earliest form of literature, but the word itself is quite modern.[1][better source needed] The word comes from the Greek stems[clarification needed] "auto-" ("self") "bio-" ("life") and "-graph" ("write").[source?]
