John Updike
John Hoyer Updike (Shillington, Pensilvanija, 18.3. 1932. - Danvers, Massachusetts, 27.1. 2009.) bio je američki pisac. Updikeovo najpotznatije djelo je Rabbit ciklus (Rabbit, Run; Rabbit Redux; Rabbit Is Rich; Rabbit At Rest i Rabbit Remembered). Rabbit is Rich i Rabbit at Rest su osovojila Pulitzerove nagrade. Poznat po tome što voli opisivati "američke protestantske gradiće sa srednjom klasom," Updike je poznat po stilu i plodnom opusu, koji se sastoji od 22 objavljena romana, više od deset zbirki novela, kao i poeziji, književnoj kritici i dječjim knjigama. Stotina priča, recenzija i pjesama su se pojavljivale u The New Yorkeru od 1950-ih. Većina djela se bavi seksom, vjerom i smrću, te njihovim međuodnosima.
