Elrig (Scots Gaelic: An Eileirg, meanin "the deer rin" is a clachan in the historical coonty o Wigtounshire in Dumfries an Gallowa, Scotland. It is locatit in the Machars, an is aboot 3 mile north o Port William.

Elrig is the birthplace o the author an naituralist Gavin Maxwell (1914-1969) that wis born at the Hoose o Elrig.[1] The hoose wis biggit in 1912 for his paurents Aymer an Leddy Mary Maxwell bi the airchitechts John Stewart & George Paterson.
