Credit by Examination
Subject to the eligibility limits described below, students may fulfill some course requirements through credit by examination. The course instructor tests students and provides a grade on the final grade report. Students should submit a Petition for Credit by Examination. Petitions should be filed with the study list. Credit by examination appears on the transcript, and the grade is included in the student’s GPA. A transcript note will indicate that the student received credit by examination.
Eligibility Notes:
- Graduate academic students are ineligible for credit by examination
- Some schools may limit courses or units to be taken for credit by examination
- Petitions are due with study list or not later than date of study list changes. An add petition is required if the course is not on the study list.
