Happy Halloween Flickr! This is a single 6 second exposure, shot using rear curtain sync, done on a budget of $3.50. For lighting I used a minolta 4000af and a Yongnuo yn-560ii in square 2'x3' reflective umbrellas placed directly to the left and the right of the subject placed at a 45 degree angle pointing at the background so that some harsh light would feather on to the subject. And a yn-460ii in a 8”x8” soft box placed directly in front of and above aimed down at the subject on a 45 degree angle. Strobes were triggered using a PT-04 trigger/receiver set. To make this image I setup my camera and tested my lighting. I did my makeup using a tutorial from youtube. I've never done makeup/facepaint before so It took me 3-4 hours. I used a 10 second timer so I could get into place (about 20' away from the camera) before igniting my makeshift flame thrower ( a can of hairspray). I walked towards the camera spraying flames to the right and left of my predetermined destination making sure to expose my face with the flames along the way. When I reached my final destination point I extinguished my can of hairspray and waited a second for the strobes to fire. I was pretty happy with the end result, it's spooky and has a really cool and magical look to it. If you ever decide to do something like this yourself please be careful or you may end up burning yourself or something else.
