There was no argument. It was another one of his own comments. He said something along the lines of “you people are morons”. And that got deleted. But because he was so mad, he decided to insult me again, but in a way that wouldn’t get removed. Or maybe it would if it got reported, but I cba. It’s higher chance of him replying and further making my point this way. xD

Exactly. He went from insulting my intelligence in one word to having to use more. But it’s still the same reply in essence. Not sure what you’re trying to add here, however. Probably same as always, just posturing and pretending you’re right hoping nobody would care to check.

World News@lemmy.world•Swiss voters reject mandatory national service for women and new inheritance taxEnglish
5·2 months agoYeah, it’s true that in this case most people would never have to care about that. When I replied I was thinking about inheritance taxes in general. My bad.
Seeing as how I actually watched his video and looked at their sources and other sources and only after that did I reply? Yes. And even to this day I still leave room for doubt. I still think the truth is actually somewhere in the middle. Not you, tho. You’re convinced that what you believe is correct.

World News@lemmy.world•Swiss voters reject mandatory national service for women and new inheritance taxEnglish
54·2 months agoNot that insane. Most people only concern themselves with their own issues. And if you’re a 40 year old whose childhood home is now worth 500k or whatever and you have to pay 200k in taxes in order to inherit it, then you probably want to vote against it because otherwise the government will take it.
Okay, take all that with a grain of salt because I’m not too familiar with inheritance law, but it’s based on multiple similar stories I’ve heard from people.
I still think it should be taxed, don’t get me wrong. But I understand why people are against it.
You’re arguing with a guy that doesn’t want to change their mind. He literally sent me a video whose sources contradicted him and guess what happened when I pointed that to him? Never bothered to reply and he still uses that video as proof that he’s right.
Haven’t seen that(or maybe I don’t remember it, although it does sound familiar), but I will say that their show was one of the most fun shows I’ve ever seen. One memorable bit(googling it now, it seems to have been a hit with many people) was that they had a sort of confetti Cannon that shot fake money. Managed to get one; pretty cool memorabilia. Especially in this day and age when physical concert tickets are rarer. I still have the ticket from my first concert(and all the other subsequent ones)

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Valve makes almost $50 million per employee, raking in more cash per person than Google, Amazon, or Microsoft — gaming giant's 350 employees on track to generate $17 billion this yearEnglish
8·2 months agoDoubt it. But, for what it’s worth, last I heard, valve was one of the most sought after employers in the business. Apparently the salaries are generous and you get to work on whatever you want, not on what a manager tells you to.
It’s not just any company, it’s a law firm 10 years after founding…Yeah, it could be a law firm that’s barely scraping by in some village with 3 other law firms, but I highly doubt it. Plus it’s a joke. The punchline is that the person is loaded.
Depends on the denomination, I think. Dunno about others but for Orthodox Christians the soul goes to heaven(or gets to be judged by God, actually) after 40 days because that’s how long Jesus took to ascend after his death.

Games@lemmy.world•Can anyone suggest me offline games for making kids practice control over the mouse ??😃😃😃English
1·3 months agoShooter games? Counter strike can be played offline with bots and it’s free. Aimlabs is made specifically to improve aim, also free. Faster paced strategy games like Dota 2 also requires accuracy to click on monsters and enemies and can be played offline with bots and it’s free.
More story-oriented games of course could also work. StarCraft, company of heroes, command and conquer, age of empires, etc. For shooters there’s tons, but many have gore…you can try portal or slime rancher but I was playing doom and Wolfenstein and stuff like that when I was like 10 and whatever as did many of us…but well…not here to give parenting advice, shouldn’t listen to me.
Blizz’s battle.net or whatever it’s called nowadays.
Well, even if trump himself can weather that storm, the rest of the powerful people in there might not. Either that or it’s just a distraction.
That’s most likely made by whoever is taking care of the tree. They sometimes rot cause of some disease so the rotten part is taken out. I’ve seen some that were so large and had such big pieces missing that they looked as if they were two trees that fused together. Pretty cool.
Looks like an olive tree. They all have those twisty trunks. They’re pretty cool. They’re somehow trying to follow the movements of the earth and apparently that’s what’s causing the weirdness.

1·3 months agoOh, I was aware of this, just didn’t know it had made international news. Statue was decided to stay despite the whole thing. And yeah, the sculptors are macho cunts in the vein of Andrew Tate but I wouldn’t have classed them as fascist propagandists. But the shoe fits, tbh, you’re right.
