8·1 month agoDoesn’t seem like the Chinese ones are as advanced as Atlas from Boston Dynamics. Check this fella out!
Well, I’d suggest just getting a starter set with a driver, a mid-range, and a putter from Innova or Discraft. See if you like playing first. If you do, then you can get into obsessively buying $25USD discs until you have a rack of them that you never put in your bag. But yeah, a starter set is pretty much all you need to… erm… start.

It’s weird that they showed Grace and Rocky’s first contact, kind of alluding to finding alien life, then they just show the whole damn alien later in the trailer.

The way they did the alien language with the synthesizer was incredibly well done.

News@lemmy.world•Florida mother accused of dunking boy underwater at hotel pool in retaliatory attack
17·2 months agoArticle says the six-year-old victim dunked her six-year-old under first. I’m guessing that was the provocation. As a dad, I’d be pissed, but not assault-a-kid pissed.

World News@lemmy.world•Kimchi, made in China: how South Korea’s national dish is being priced out at homeEnglish
7·2 months agoA few years ago this video of a shirtless Chinese guy wading in cabbages really caused a ruckus and push against Chinese kimchi in Korea. All the restaurants are required to post visibly where each ingredient they use is sourced from, but I guess it’s just hard to avoid cheap kimchi in cheap restaurants.
I love summer, but this does kind of make sense. I live in Korea, where they have a long winter break (Christmas until March) from school. People here seem to love winter, which is usually absolutely frigid and miserable.
Slight correction: he was nominated for the prize before being sworn in. He didn’t receive the prize until nine months after being sworn in.

Screaming Trees rule! Highly recommend Mark Lanegan’s memoir Sing Backwards and Weep to anyone and everyone ever.
Yeah, I live in Korea and bring horse jerky back to the US as gifts. Don’t think customs would like finding it though.
