I have the ability to take a train to work, but it would take me an extra 30 minutes or so each way because I live only a minute walk from the train station, but my job is about a mile away. Also, the train costs me more than driving. I’ve done it, and would rather do it, but it doesn’t work well enough.

I’ve been getting mine from freshroastedcoffee.com and I think they are the same price whole or ground. They also sell the same coffee in different grinds which is nice, because I could get coarse for the French press.

I like that store because I primarily drink decaf and theirs tastes way better than any other decafs I’ve tried.

I’ve been liking French press for years as well. I had to add an extra step recently though that has been pretty good.

I ordered a 5 lb bag of coffee, but accidentally got whole beans. A hand grinder was cheaper than replacing the coffee, so I got a cheap one and have been grinding beans every 2 or 3 days for it. I was surprised that the fresh ground beans actually taste significantly better than preground and it only takes about 15 seconds extra.

2 things: Experience Repetition

First of all, continue to look up how to fix things, there’s no problem with that. HOWEVER, make sure you understand what the commands you are entering do. Same thing applies to Windows as well, I’ve seen plenty of troubleshooting posts that and with “paste these 3 lines into power shell”

The more you do this, you’ll get a feel for how everything is organized. You might not know HOW to fix your issue at this point, but you will at least know where to look for logs and where to find the config files relevant to your issue. Once you’ve fixed enough problems, you’ll start to be able to figure it out on your own. You can also help out with bug reports better now too.

You also need to do this often enough that you remember these things. I’ve got a bunch of Linux installations (3 desktops, 1 laptop, 4 small servers) so I get plenty of practice changing things. When I only had the 1 computer running Linux, it was a lot harder to remember everything.
