This guy’s a fraud. Birds don’t have lungs, they have series of air sacs.
edit: my bad, I should take this course. The lungs move the air through the air sacs

I learned at my local humane society that when it was established it was for looking after unwanted children because children were considered chattel. I think marriage was a business transaction, at least in western cultures.
Or maybe add some extra trailing 0s… fractions of a cent exist, right?

I use Mio or other “flavour enhancer drops” for carbonated water to make all kinds of different sodas. My favourite is either cherry blackberry or pomegranate. I know it doesn’t help with the cake situation, but hopefully you can at least still make some fun water.

But Scylla and the Sirens featuring Charybdis doesn’t feel as different to me as say the Collector vs the Champ. I like the randomness and didn’t realize until this comment- though you could argue the music for the Scylla fight is random at least!

You just made me appreciate Slay the Spire more with the boss choices for each act. I didn’t realize until this comment how refreshing that is. Even Hades 1 had some variety in the first two boss fights (which fury was showing up, what kind of heads Lernie had…)

Its usually patients, they often don’t have full capacity (either altered for organic underlying reasons, or substance use, etc…) and usually for that reason it goes unreported.

I never said there was only one victim, friend. Many people may be hurt by a single action, of course to varying degrees.

Still victim blaming. How do you decide what someone else chooses to be called? 27 years is a long time, and there are a lot of good reasons to hold onto a name even after the person you shared it with turns out to be bad for you. Does everyone who estranges from their father need to change their last name if that’s who they got it from?

I don’t have it handy but I remember seeing research years ago that pointed out the link between cannabis use and schizophrenia especially in males under 20, but wasn’t able to identify whether it was causation or whether the patients were self medicating with cannabis.

Well stingrays are closely related to sharks, and sharks are smooth so…
If the order Testudines refers to turtles then all tortoises are turtles (though not all turtles are tortoises).

Have you read any of Nassim Nicolas Taleb’s work? His writing is what comes to mind when people defend economics.

Not at all the same vibe, but the John Dies at the End series by David Wong (Jason Pargin) is technically cosmic horror. And extremely funny.
ETA: As someone who also would have been hated on by Lovecraft, I am happy to have been able to read his works while they are open domain and he doesn’t benefit from it. I have weird feelings about his works, but I do like the melancholy atmosphere he’s able to create. My favourite is the Shadow over Innsmouth, which is ironic since it’s basically a fable on the horrors of race mixing while I happen to be biracial.

“After 20 millimetres of rain, the level of faecal matter and raw sewage that are in the harbour attracts bait fish and brings sharks toward the bait fish,” they said.
It sounds like there are several reasons not to swim after a big storm.
Hilariously this is actually anti-disability. Many people have mobility issues without needing a wheelchair all the time, and really benefit from having places to sit. Removing a seat removes that option.

Fun fact, if you’re a visible minority people will ask you the same question in English speaking countries!

Reading is allowing someone’s thoughts directly into your brain. You’re letting me transmit my thoughts to you right now.
Absolutely. If you learn about visual hierarchy in design, one of the first things that you learn is that those who have language that read from left to right will instinctively look at the top left, across, and top to bottom, in kind of an “F” pattern.
