  • When the fuck did the NDP have a federal mandate? Nevermind that, let’s get to the real point here: Your partisan brainrot only enables the very same special interest lobbies who pushed the Liberal government to wrongly implement programs to provide them with cheap labour at your and my expense. The super rich like the Westons do not want to pay Canadians what they’re owed to get access to their record profits they love to brag about immediately after telling us there’s just nothing they can do about prices. You’ll get no argument for the existence of the TFW program from me here, but you’re absolutely restarted if you think your ‘child arsonist’ or whatever fucked up metephor you wanna use actually justifies supporting a party that promises to lean EVEN HARDER into the lobbies and suck even more billionaire dick. If that’s what you want, I can’t pretend to understand your politics, it sure seems like you’re against your own best interests and can’t wait to get exploited harder… We’ll just have to agree to disagree.

  • What is this party conserving exactly? It clearly isn’t social programs, it clearly isn’t maintaining the greatest good for the most Canadians… Let’s just call this ideology what it is now: Corporatist. Everyone in here should know that advancing the interests of oligarchs and global capital definitionally comes at your personal expense either directly or indirectly, by definition. So this party is anti-Canadian, in that it seeks to disenfranchise and harm the Canadian public and the nation’s interests in service of private global capital. If you’re for that, own it, but don’t come pissing on my leg claiming you care about family values, or spirituality or anything but enrichment and power for the smallest minority of impossibly privileged people.

Now who wants to take bets on what % of private interest groups they represent are even based in Canada?

  • This vile ghoul ushered in the death of America by breaking key covenants in governance, and while he’s vaguely expressed some sort of remorse since over the years, there will be no forgiveness or peace for him on his deathbed. He will only be hailed by a cabal of grinning sycophants encircling his frail shell, chanting “you made this all possible” as they lean in to devour his rotting carcass. Thanks for nothing, Mitch.

  • If they’re as committed to the same brand of ‘conservative’ ideology as US republicans, and it seems they increasingly are, it’s entirely the second goal. Every love they profess is just a prop they have selected as a stepping stone toward acquisition of more power. This is how they treated religion, core to their existence while electing a clear anti-Christian to office; This is how they viewed abortion rights, as sacred until they decided they weren’t; The constitution, which was sacred until it became too binding for their tastes… their base is more and more comfortable abandoning any declared commitment to any institution the moment it conflicts in any way with their goal of power acquisition. This is how we end up with a Republican president openly insisting that guns aren’t a right because the wrong people (in its eyes) might have them, and use them to stop having their rights and lives menaced, you know, the way their constitution explicitly demands.

What I have learned in the last 10 years of observing their politics and the import of their extreme ideology here, is that you do not give them any grace at all. The moment you take for granted their good will is the moment they come out from behind it to stab you in the ribs, it’s always performative and it’s always strategic. They believe in nothing but what they see as hard power, it’s frankly like negotiating with terrorists, which presents a greater issue of how do you continue to conduct politics with a group completely dedicated to your eventual destruction? They talk openly about executing trans people in that country these days, this is not new for a party founded on bigotry, but the explicit openness and pride in putting a voice to their hate is a sign. and as history shows, there is always another ‘other’.

This time it seems to be escalating to ‘criminal immigrants’ in a land made up of migrants, which is just code for non-whites. They send their private army out to abuse and disappear anyone brown, legally settled or naturalized Americans included. Next it will be any ‘liberal-minded’ Americans and anyone who would contradict this new state, if it’s not already. It never stops at one ‘other’, and with their paramilitary arm ICE, it really seems they are fast-tracking this push with the open and unaccounted murder of white ‘liberal’ Americans in the street. There are at least some in the Canadian conservative tent that are inviting this reality here because they see it as a path to power for themselves. I truly wish this were hyperbole and I could be justly painted as raving mad with exaggerations, but anyone who isn’t criminally ignorant or acting in bad faith in defense of this ideology can’t deny what is happening before our eyes every day.

  • This would also be a great time to turn a spotlight on how exactly which US owned media outlets are responding to this accurate description of an active attack on our sovereignty as a nation. I really think it’s time we start revoking licenses from foreign corporations pushing this initiative and refusing to address it clearly to provide cover as it infiltrates our society, and start awarding more attention and credibility to Canadian operated media. I’m wary of anyone claiming it’s “dangerous language” to label individuals while completely ignoring the danger of annexation from an openly aggressive state and the direct connection between the two. Don’t think it’s an issue? Do even a cursory online search of who owns our private news distributors and tell me there’s no vulnerability. People, especially conservatives want you to doubt CBC as state run media, but fully endorse completely unaccountable private media that has foreign ownership and is motivated by ideology accordingly. No media are perfect, but only one of these institutions relies primarily on the Canadian public for input and support, and that’s where accountability comes from.

Please, observe media critically and build your literacy, it’s more important than ever.
