i think it kinda looks a little like how medieval armor is attached. it makes sense that that’d make you feel safe!
though honestly i feel a similar way but also can’t really put together what’s going on, since the straps themselves are just straps… yeah idk
You should try rock climbing harnesses. They’re somewhat similar. There’s also some techwear that has those straps.
Edit: upon some cursory research, I have found that simply searching ‘suspension harness’ and/or ‘leg harness’ yeilds a high abundance of options. There is clearly a market for this kind of thing, and you’re probably not alone in a want for thigh compression.

I think its the fact they they (the person) appears like - really secure n safe n snug just in general, but the leggies appear so exposed… iguess its… hmm idunno,… its a combo if things…its the big bulky scary boot transition toward the simple legs- then above again with some big huge weird corpus for their upper body… maybe its just the difference?..
