Its not a spoiler because neither of them are gonna win the yusho, but they can still spoil it for others!
As someone who knows nothing about sumo, the “smaller” guy is still massive, how is his neck not going to snap when he lands on his head like that?
Hoshoryu, in black, is in control of the move and can break his own fall.
Impressive
Also, his momentum is sideways, not head-over-heels, see here: https://youtu.be/3aJ9nh_zKEw?t=57
So from context I am left believing that if you leave the ring it is fine, so long as your opponent is taken down first. I had just known first out of the ring. Great move though. Very quick and flexible for someone so heavy

Yeah, that’s right, tho there are a couple exceptions: like if your opponent is flying out of the ring and has no hope of returning, then you can put a hand down to catch yourself.
Thanks, someday I’ll have to make sure I pay more attention and watch more. I wish I watched more rugby as well
Osoto-gari? I’m years removed from doing Judo. Great picture.
The move was called as uwatenage, or over arm throw. But yes it was combined with a foot trip dialled up to eleven.

Kotozakura’s one of the biggest guys in Makuuchi, too!
