As part of the Resilience4Ports initiative, Arup is joining the call for a sector-wide commitment to enhancing and accelerating the adaptation and resilience goals for port infrastructure and operations world-wide. As we deal with the impact of climate change on ports and communities on the coast, we're supporting clients and industry partners to undertake four key actions: *understand and manage climate risks *integrate climate resilience into business models and processes *foster community focuses in business continuity *share knowledge and experiences. At Arup, we have been supporting infrastructure and city leaders to strengthen resilience around the world for over a decade. Our previous work with industry partners offers key players across the maritime sector a framework for action to help approach port resilience in a systemic way. To mark Resilience Day at #COP29, Resilience4Ports has called on ports to commit to the Adaptation and Resilience goals of the Sharm-El-Sheikh Adaptation Agenda and the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions’ Maritime Resilience Breakthroughs. Launched today - this new pledge is the first sectoral, action-based commitment from global port actors to enhance and accelerate the resilience of #port infrastructure, operations and activities from the effects of #ClimateChange.
