Amstel Playwright of the Year Award , var en uavhengig ikke-statlig pris, som ble innstiftet i Sør-Afrika i 1978 . Den kunne tildeles sørafrikanske dramatikere . Prisen ble tildelt til mange av Sør-Afrikas anti-apartheid dramatikere.
Prisen opphørte i 1994.[ 1]
